Be Heard 2008

Netherurd
26th-28th September

On the 26-28th of September 2008, 11 members of the senior section from all over Scotland met up at Netherurd house near Edinburgh for the latest Polaris camp. We did the following activities: built a log cabin, a lean-to shelter and a wigwam, did some wood carving, had some media training, and completed the right to be heard badge. We also elected new members to the committee and had a sausage sizzle at the campfire circle.

It was a lot of fun, even in the cold, wet weather. The right to be heard activities included say what, zoo blues, broken telephone, take a vote and respect. We also did progressive games such as 'stop!, you can't say that!'. We discussed our opinions on the uniform and promise. We also did campfire singing, had the Polaris AGM meeting and had reflections at the site of our newly built log cabin.

We all enjoyed the weekend even if we were a little bit cold and are looking forward to next time!
